Am I Screwed?

First of all hello Marines and Poolees now I've been googling and searching this forum hoping to find my answer. Ive been wanting to be a Marine since the 2nd grade and finally ive been taking the steps to be given the honor of attending Recruit training. This last week I took the ASVAB got a 70 and qualified for every job in the Marines according to my recruiter. And this past friday I went to MEPS to take my physical. I passed everything with flying colors except my vision. I wear glasses and have astigmatism which isnt bad and is correctable to 20/20 with my glasses. The doctor there said my vision was bad etc and is sending me to an eye expert. I was wondering if anybody has been in this situation, has advice, or thinks what the outcome might be. I dont wanna be dqed for this it would devastate me not getting the opportunity of being a Marine.

if your vision is correctable to 20/20 you should be fine for just about anything

You get sent to specialist because obviously they do more than a simple eye exam. They might just dilate the iris and an optometrist will see if there is anything causing the bad eyesight. A Meps DR are normally just practicing general medicine. The optometrist will know exactly what to look for. Dont get too nervous though my younger brother was "diagnosed" with a heart murmur at MEPs so he had to go see a cardiovascular expert. Turned out he was just fine and he is partying in Oki. The military doesnt want to take any chances so just schedule it asap and good luck.

Update Marines sorry for the long wait but I got sworn in and im shipping out to San Diego in August. The docs at MEPS tried to screw me once I got the consult but I had paperwork from my personal doc that said I was good to go and the doc at MEPS said oh the machines must be "miscalibrated" point is he passed me wished me goodluck and swore in the same day
